FUNCTION: Oversees multiple repair and maintenance shops and associated supervisors 

KEY ACTIVITIES: 

• Oversee shop employees, equipment, plant maintenance, and condition of facility 

• Responsible for recruiting, hiring, promotion, and corrective action 

• Assist with equipment procurement  

• Monitor employee training and certification 

• Provide support and oversight in the achievement of team performance goals 

• Ensure compliance with all safety and environmental requirements 

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:  

• Knowledge of equipment, vehicle, and plant maintenance  

• Computer and MS Office proficient 

• Ability to review and analyze financial information, and coordinate with operations leadership on controlling costs 

• Exceptional interpersonal, problem solving, and technical skills 

• Strong vendor relations 

• Maintain DOT medical card and insurable driving record  

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:  

• Demonstrated experience managing people and processes in a shop evironment 

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) 

• College or trade school degree preferred 

• Mechanic experience preferred  

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:  

• Exerting up to 50 lbs. of force regularly 

• Repetitive motion associated with repairing equipment 

• Regular exposure to the elements 

• Frequent bending, standing, lifting, and ongoing physical activity
