FUNCTION: Under the direction of the area manager, the block plant operator is primarily responsible for the production of all masonry products.
KEY ACTIVITIES:
- Visualize, define, plan, communicate, and implement the company vision and core values.
- Operate machinery to create masonry products
- Visually inspect products and by-products for conformity to prescribed quality standards such as color, shape and corners. Remove poor quality products and by-products as required.
- Make minor adjustment and repairs on machinery, such as removing jams.
- Learn and use correctly the appropriate sorting and stacking patterns for each product as required on cubing machine. Operate computer to change codes for stacking patterns.
- Monitor the operation of cuber, pallet injector, depalleter, turntable, conveyor, stretch wrap machine, block machine and other nearby equipment to detect and report malfunctions.
- Perform quality control on dry block line and fill out documentation.
- Perform other functions and duties as required or directed, such as assisting with maintenance and repair of machinery, cleaning mixer and other production equipment and assisting with training of new employees.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
- Exceptional problem solving, and technical skills
- Experience with Columbia machinery
- Mechanical, electrical and hydraulic experience
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to life 50-75 lbs
