Overview

Sunroc is seeking an experienced Lead Field Mechanic with strong leadership skills and a passion for team development. This role emphasizes effective communication with supervisors, operators, and field mechanics to coordinate and manage repairs. You will take a hands-on approach, assisting your team with diagnostics and providing support where needed. Additionally, you will contribute as a field mechanic, handling repairs directly. We are looking for someone committed to leadership and building a long-term career with us. 

 

Things You’ll Do  

  • Help lead the field mechanic team by dispatching, teaching, and keeping communications 
  • Keep communications between job supervisors and shop supervisor for repair requests and status. 
  • Diagnose, rebuild, and repair vehicles and equipment; perform major engine and transmission repairs and replacements as well as electrical diagnosis.  
  • Perform major electrical repairs (including electronic controls), minor welding repairs, engine and transmission repairs and replacements, as well as equipment and plant maintenance repairs.   
  • Complete road calls and perform field repairs.  
  • Ensure a safe and healthful work environment at all times.  

 

Requirements  

  • 5+ years experience as a heavy equipment mechanic. 
  • 1+ years leading a team 
  • Must be able to obtain a department of transportation (DOT) medical card.   
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.   
  • CDL is a plus but not necessary  
  • Ability to move at least 50 pounds.
